Foneshop, one of the leading UK mobile phone accessory retailers, needed a future-proof website with a powerful content management system allowing complete control over the complex nature of mobile phone sales, with network, contract and multiple phone plan options needing to be fully accessible. Phase8 undertook a complete redesign of their trading site, back office and content management system enabling Foneshop to lead in a difficult market already saturated by competing sites.
The Solution
Phase8 worked closely with the Foneshop team to identify every aspect that would need attention during the project, encompassing the extremely extensive variables offered by the seemingly endless options offered by mobile phone contracts, networks, bolt on options and phone accessories.
Working closely with numerous Search Engine Optimisation companies, Phase8 ensured foneshop.com reached the top of Google’s natural page results fine tuning each section and page of the site to be completely ‘Google-friendly’, taking advantage of Google’s powerful features such as Google Site Map.
Phase8 was able to deliver a fully bespoke website, powered by a heavyweight Content and Project management system that could function without compromising design aesthetics and user interface.
With the on-going relationship between Foneshop and Phase8 taking advantage of the heavily orientated report sections of the site CMS, which include parsing log-files and data from sales and page hits to determine site strengths and more importantly weaknesses, we have been able to directly use these reports to influence the paths taken to improve the site with the Foneshop’s ongoing maintenance contract.
In less than a year of its launch, which was delivered to a strict deadline, foneshop.com has doubled its daily orders, receiving excellent customer feedback on all aspects of the foneshop.com experience.
