Conceptually simple, the team at foodfullstop.com required Phase8 to create a platform capable of bringing the customer and the supplier together in a secure, stable, trading enviroment.
Foodfullstop.com had invested in thorough research, estimating that there are in excess of 10,000 small producers in Great Britain, most of whom currently operate within a geographically limited market for their produce.
With an extremely small percentage of these producers running their own e-commerce enabled website, and only a marginally larger percentage owning a ‘brochure’ style site, Phase8 were chosen, from conception to the launch of foodfullstop.com, as the right team to fulfill the requirements of these producers and, in effect, to raise customer awareness of the suppliers and their products and to enable the suppliers to find their customer.
The Solution
Foodfullstop.com offered a challenge to the Phase8 developers, with many different producers offering any number of products, delivery charges and delivery conditions, as well as the customer being able to fill their shopping basket with products from any number of these producers. A detailed systems specification document had to be drawn up following a thorough meeting between the Phase8 and Foodfullstop.com teams to be certain all eventualities had been accounted for enabling the development of a watertight backend to power the site.
The fully bespoke Content Management System needed not only to accommodate the foodfullstop.com team and their administration of the site, but also allow each producer to log in and control their personal account details, products, delivery details and much more.
