Kevin Savage is the founder of Phase8 and Managing Director of the company's parent company Namesco. He started his career as a Creative Designer for a leading advertising agency in Birmingham, Barkers Communications.
Today as well as managing Namesco he oversees the development within Phase8 and brings over a decade of experience in both design and marketing.
Simon has been developing system and web applications commercially for 15 years for various Internet companies all over the UK. He is a staunch perl advocate, but does admit to using PHP quite often these days.
Simon is responsible for all backend system design and coding, as well as being our resident e-commerce expert.
When Simon is not working he can be found exploring the British coastline, gardening and reading sci-fi fantasy, but not at the same time.
Following a BA (Hons) and an MA in Art & Design (from Teesside and Wolverhampton Universities), Hilary has spent the last 10 years working as a graphic designer in various UK design agencies.
Hilary joined Phase8 in Jan 2006 as Senior Designer and spends her days drinking super strong cups of coffee whilst working in traditional print, corporate identity and web design.
When not at work, Hilary can be found trying to contain her obsessive compulsion for collecting DVDs, surfing 70's retro TV sites, playing on mac's and eating too many packets of crisps.
Geoff is the team's CSS and templating developer - his primary role is taking generated designs and converting them into working standards based websites.
Geoff's role within the team also sees him providing guidance on issues relating to web standards, usability and accessibility considerations.
When not in the office, Geoff can often be found at air shows, driving around the country and building computers, although not all at the same time.
Following up his BSc in MediaLab Arts from Plymouth University Nick started his professional career as a designer for Royal Mail's online shopping arm, before moving to Simply.com as Senior Designer for the popular ISP.
Joining Phase8 (the design and development arm for Namesco Ltd) following their takeover of Simply, Nick is involved with all facets of Phase8's client projects from project management and pitching to graphic design and front end CSS development.
Following a BA from Lancaster University, John spent a brief spell in teaching before moving into the world of IT, first in Systems Development and then as Project Manager. He joined Phase8 as Studio Manager in September 2006 and is responsible for the day to day running of the department.
When not at work, John can normally be found at a music festival or concert, strumming his guitar somewhere or pursuing his hobby as a photographer.
He has occasionally been known to wear a colour other than black, and wrote his first piece of code in BASIC on the ZX80.
Chris is the team's Flash Designer - his primary role is to add animation and interactivity to our client's websites. Flash can be used in different ways to subtly enhance a website, or give it a "wow" factor that might otherwise be missing.
Chris also uses other design tools such as Dreamweaver and Photoshop, so when not creating animated page headers or MP3 players, he is often found constructing other elements of a website.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys practicing Kendo - a Japanese martial art involving two people hitting each other with big bamboo sticks! Thankfully there have been no major injuries yet, although he does like to show off his bruises. Chris's also seems to have a strange obsession with Llamas. One day he hopes to open his own Llama trekking business!
